SLVFD Members donate to Food Pantry
First Assistant Chief James Stinson, November 27
Members of Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department brought in food for the Interfaith Food Pantry and met up with food pantry volunteer Tom Long to donate the food. Donations can be made to the Interfaith food pantry year round and are always appreciated.

She's finally here, after a long wait, Smokey 7 travelled today from East Granby Connecticut to Saranac Lake. Smokey will serve her first official active tour of duty tomorrow morning.
A special thank you to breeder Phillip Martin of Alpha N Omega Dalmatians. A later posting on Smokey's page will describe the lineage, but the last several SLVFD Smokeys are descendants of the same blood line.

On Friday November 1st and Saturday November 2nd Gordie King, a representative of E-One travelled to Saranac Lake to provide manufacturers training on Saranac Lakes newly acquired 95' Tower Ladder aka LT-144.

Honor Flight #58 carries one of SLVFD's very own!

On October 5th 2024 North Country Honor Flight’s #58 and #59 carried 48 United States Military Veterans and their escorts from throughout the North Country from Plattsburgh to Washington DC.

SLVFD mourns the loss of "Smokey 6"

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of "Smokey" Smokey was the 6th documented Dalmatian to serve as the SLVFD's official mascot.
Smokey began her tour with the SLVFD on Christmas day of 2008 when she was obtained from the same breeder in Poughkeepsie NY who bred the previous "Smokey 5"

On Friday May 17th The SLVFD held its annual banquet at the Red Fox restaurant in Saranac Lake.
The annual banquet is a time for the volunteers to take just a little time away from the stressors associated with the daily lives of being first responders.
